I wrote recently about how my old writing group had been disbanded, and a new one was forming that I wasn’t too excited about. I didn’t attend the meeting at the end of April because I was double-booked again, and frankly I wasn’t that interested.
Then, two weeks ago I got an e-mail from one of the guys in my old group saying that the group had been resurrected by one of the members. They even set up a website, and the next meeting will be in June. I’m very excited about that.
Then today I got an e-mail from the second group, except that this was from someone else. He explained that he is taking over the group and even named a date, time, place and agenda for the next meeting. He sounds like a reasonable guy, so I replied to his e-mail and told him I would attend. The topic for the first meeting will be “writing for magazines” which I’m interested to hear more about.
And to top it all off, an old friend of mine who used to work at my job got hired back in a new position, plus a former intern who is also a good friend graduated from college last weekend and started working at my office on a full time permanent basis.
It’s fun to come to work now. My friends are awesome. None of us takes it too seriously, and we like making fun of the people who do.
I’m off to enjoy the evening with my husband. Have a good night!
